Laura De La Torre Villatoro

Analyst

Laura is an analyst at BSP Research focused on qualitative research analysis and Spanish language translation. Her experience ranges from survey translation, which includes tone, intent, and syntax, to focus groups and qual-diaries, using contextual adaptation and inclusive language to better interpret the Latino population in the U.S. Laura has assisted in political polling projects, including the most recent presidential and midterm elections, as well as work for non-profit and academic clients whose main focus is to study the adversities, differences, and needs of underserved communities. Some of her most significant contributions include qual-diaries for  the CMPS survey and various UnidosUS projects.

Laura’s personal research interests focus on race and ethnicity in American Politics, including voter patterns and behavior, and understanding linked fate and solidarity amongst Latino communities of different generations, ethnic origins, geographical regions, and what their cultural diversity means for public policy.

Laura is a PhD student at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Southern California. Laura graduated in 2024 with a B.A. in Political Science, concentrating on Race and Ethnicity Politics, a B.A. in American Literature, and a minor in Labor Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
